eMRs

At the completion of this module you will be able to:

• Explain how and why eMRs are used by clinicians in regional and rural NSW public health facilities.
• Outline the benefits of eMRs for clinicians and patients/clients in regional and rural NSW public health facilities.
• Explain your responsibilities as a clinician when using an eMR to access patient/client data, especially around confidentiality, accuracy and potential consequences for not following protocols and procedures for use of all components of the eMR in regional and rural, NSW public health facilities.
• Reflect on situations where confidentiality may be breached using the eMR, and comment on how you should respond as a clinician to meet legal and ethical responsibilities in regional and rural NSW public health facilities.
• Reflect on how each application in the eMR is used, for different components of clinical records and how you will access the eMR in regional and rural , NSW public health facilities.
