This module discusses how the concepts of student resilience and wellbeing relate to you personally and professionally. Practicing self-care enables you to maintain balance in your life, enabling you to be a more effective student and clinician. The importance of self-care cannot be underestimated, and many professional codes of ethics now include maintaining your own health and wellbeing as a requirement. In this module you will learn about the importance of self-care and resilience. You will also be assisted to develop some strategies to understand and mediate your own personal responses to stress.
At the completion of this module, you will be able to:
- Develop a growing understanding of wellbeing, potential stressors, and strategies for self-care.
- Identify personal and professional stressors.
- Identify what resilience is and what your personal strengths are to increase your resilience.
- Undertake activities to apply your understanding of self-care strategies and develop a personal wellbeing plan.
